Join the BOJ and Japanese government in making every today better by every day borrowing more from tomorrow than yesterday, and buy Japanese stocks. You too can enjoy the game of infinite can kicking where reckless borrowing approaches three times GDP, and negative interest rates fuel a zombie company filled bubble full to the brim with misallocated capital, overexpansion and overcapacity that will one day flattened the country like a pancake. Structural changes that are seriously needed are not done decade after decade and instead are substituted with money printing, bubble blowing, negative interest rates, and a massive BOJ balance sheet dwarfing all others the world over. The only limit to the money printing is how many trees they can get their hands on, where food inflation rises to the sky, where government endorsed inflation runs rampant and the government adds to the landscape of zombie company profits by adding to its own debt with energy subsidies and a BOJ endorsed bubble in asset prices to the stratosphere. Buy now and prosper.

simon Pint Yeah, Arhtur. Markets are state controlled and heading towards full state ownership. Free market price discovery is gone. The BOJ bought truckloads of the stock market after virtually monopolizing ownership of the bond market. The government seems to think printing money and price control of markets is the solution to Japan's problems, and yet what they are doing is actually making the problems worse because of a causing a gross misallocation of capital. If they were smart they would have realized the country's problems decades ago, controlled how much debt they took on, changed their policies to tackle their declining aging population problem and endless support of zombie companies.. I have been saying for years having children in Japan is WAY too expensive and that Japan is the Land of the Zombie Company. They could also have simply opened the gates to immigration, but seem very closed to that. Their cultural also values the bandwagon effect, where nobody questions anything and you just accept the trouble and not complain or expect change, and you bite the bullet vs going forward and changing.

I guess with the sovereign debt in Japan closing in on three times GDP traders now that they cannot raise interest rates.  Hence, the are not going to stop making bullish bets.  This will be 35,000 by the end of the week and 40,000 by the end of June.

Now you flip 180 degrees from saying Nikkei is way over priced to 35-40k. Jesus good thing no one follows your advice.

Fair value, judging by market cap to GDP which normalized for fluctuation has the Nikkei worth 20k. But that doesnt matter short term. Traders are going to push it as high as they can to squeeze the shorts as much as possible. And the BOJ obviously doesnt care about inflation or they would have raised rates. And if the government cared about their debt they would have stopped the reckless spending years ago. They want a bubble. In their minds, the bigger the better so as to push inflation up. Hence, valuation doesnt matter currently and it wont matter until it matters. As for me doing a 180, you are correct. But I am hedged so can change my mind without worrying about it. I think if they wanted to prevent a bubble they would have acted long ago. Hence, I dunno. And bubbles are unpredictable.

The government in Japan has so much debt that they cannot raise interest rates.  They cannot do anything even though inflation is almost double their target of two percent and food inflation is closing in on ten percent.  They talk about inflation like they can do nothing about it with interest rates just to say something.  They will not admit that they have taken on too much debt.  If they tell the truth the people of Japan will not be happy so they have to make up something believable.  But in the end, the truth is, they cannot raise interest rates without crushing the government.  It is quite humorous really.  All this time they spent money so very carelessly, pumped up a monetary bubble so that all of the poor companies could drain the country and its resources.  But the bubble will go higher.  It has nowhere to go but up.

Naw, I bought calls when I bought a reverse ETF weeks ago. Bubbles have a tendency to move really high really fast, and I thought that could happen.
