Investment Strategy

The aim of this Fund is to provide long-term capital growth over a period of 5 years or more. The Fund invests in shares of listed companies engaged in the research, design and development of technologies in all sectors including IT and the internet which the Manager believes will provide above-average returns. The Fund invests in companies of any size which can be based anywhere in the world, albeit the Fund tends to be biased towards the US as this is where the majority of technology related companies are based. The Manager selects shares based upon analysis of a company’s financial status, quality of its management, expected profitability and prospects for growth.

Biography Jeremy joined AXA Framlington in July 2007 and is the lead fund manager of the AXA Framlington Global Technology and AXA World Funds Framlington Global Technology funds. Previously, he was a senior portfolio manager at Close Investments (formerly Reabourne Technology), a subsidiary of Close Brothers Group PLC, from 2003 to 2007,having been a portfolio manager for the previous three years and an assistant portfolio manager from 1997 to 2000 with Reabourne Technology.During his time at Close Investments / Reabourne, Jeremy was the lead fund manager on several technology funds and won the FTSE techMARK Technology Fund Manager of the Year award in 2003 and 2005.Jeremy holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics (1st class) and an MSc. in Systems Engineering from the University of Wales (1992-1996). He is also a CFA charterholder.

Biography Mark attended the University of Bristol gaining a Geography BSc (Hons). In 2000, he obtained a Masters in Finance from the London Business School. He is also a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals. Mark spent two years working for Abbey National plc and then moved to Hambros Fund Management as assistant portfolio manager European Equities. In 1997, he joined United Friendly Asset Management as a fund manager for European Equities. Mark joined AXA Framlington as a fund manager in June 2000.

Biography Nick joined Polar Capital in September 2007. He was appointed lead fund manager of the Global Technology Fund on 1 January 2008, and is also a fund manager on the Polar Capital Technology Trust and the Polar Capital Automation and Artificial Intelligence Fund. Nick was previously head of technology at AXA Framlington where he was lead fund manager of the AXA Framlington Global Technology Fund and the AWF Framlington Global Technology Fund between August 2001 and July 2007. Both funds were rated five stars by S&P and received several S&P and Lipper performance awards. Nick graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Economics from University of Hull.
