I was bullish in the beginning, then bearish in the middle, and now my outlook is at a paced angle towards bullish. Long-term, UNM is a good buy. Healthcare will always be needed and the months from NOV to JAN should be it's best earning times. This is because NOV is open enrollment for coverage. I am remaining optimistic. Plus, the dividends are generous!

Main reason why this stock is ridiculously cheap is low interest rate environment. So, there are strong headwinds for this business adding to low interest rates - higher mortality and lower revenues from sales. But this company has very solid balance sheet. I think when the pandemics will be over and interest rates will start to increase - this stock will be huge gainer. But you have to wait and be patient in meantime.

If you don't know how to answer that question yourself you really shouldn't be picking stocks like this.

How is thus stock so cheap? The company pays a good dividend and the P/E number is ridiculously low.

The whole Life Insurance sub group is trading together. Also seeing low single digit P/E’s on $LNC $BHF $MFC $MET $PRU. They all have the same charts and dropped -70% to -75% off the Q1 2020 highs. Total wash out on all these. $UNM dropped all the way down to 2009 Financial Crisis lows on very little volume. Seems to be more of a buyers strike (lack of buying interest) than outright panic selling. Unum CEO provided a good update two weeks ago at Barclays Financial Services Conference that doesn’t imply impending bankruptcy yet the shares are trading as if they are.
