Somehow, I think this is going to reverse. We are facing key resistances, and while the Tesla management story is falling apart (if Strausbel leaves, expect a nice plop!), M3 production seems to be coming up.

Nothing like a little scammish monthly opex trading activity too. They'll pin the 280 puts hard today, but next week could  be a different story.

The company should have a line of business focused on leasing home battery packs and use the cash flows from that to fund the lumpy auto production business. It'll stabilize the company's cash flows. The former would be valuable as debt security. Look at companies like ECI that have been able to do quite well on the equipment for rent business model. Low capital requirements, predictable cash flow.

Jan Kowalski . . Keeps his word? Hahahaha, ramp up to 5k/week is 6 months late. That said, I do think Musk will figure out how to make Tesla profitable in Q3/4, and that we will get a short squeeze around the Q3 earnings report.

This is going to be fun. With deteriorating conditions at Tesla, the stock will drop until Musk engineers a short squeeze. Then when the recession hits, TSLA will trend toward zero.

When you have intellectual capital like Musk does, capital is only a phone call away. Musk will have no trouble obtaining bridge financing if a margin call or some other liquidity crisis occurred. This an early growth stage company that's investing significant capital to achieve scale economies. It's loss per unit is transparent because it makes a tangible product. Investors would have much less problem with this concept if it made intangible products and continued to loose money for years and years like TWTR or Snap. Good luck shorting, Seems great when you're up, but only takes an instant to wipe out your paper gains and then some.

Musk isn't some sort of God figure. He's just a man, and his implementation of a single factory, in California of all places, has gone terribly so far. The loss on every Model 3 is over $10,000. Selling cars just means more losses. How anyone sees this as a potential positive is beyond rationale. Musk may be a sorta crazy genius, but that doesn't make him an effective leader.

It is not a good sign when a company is burning cash at this rate when we’re in this stage of the business cycle. Do you think Tesla will fare better or worse when the next recession comes around? The answer is obvious. Tesla is innovative, sure, but that is not enough to make a successful company. Their valuation is ludicrous for the auto sector, and it’s going to come back to earth sooner or later.

So if this stock falls below $240 Elon Musk will be margin called on his borrowings against Tesla stock, which will cause him to sell into a falling market and create a negative feedback loop. That is why he is so desperately hyping the stock and behaving strangely.
