Mechel PJSC Company Profile
Mechel PAO produces and sells steel products in Russia. The company operates through three segments: Metals, Mining, and Energy. The Metals segment, includes production and sells of semi-finished products; steel and metal products; metallurgical products; rolled products made of carbon and special steel; flat rolled products made of carbon and stainless steel; and deep processing products, such as forged and stamped products, hardware, and rails and ferrosilicon. The Mining segment, includes extraction, transportation, and sells of coking and energy coal and industrial products; coke and chemical production products; chemicals; and iron ore concentrate, as well as provides raw materials for metallurgical. The Energy segments, includes production and sells of electrical and thermal energy; supplies electricity and heat to the metallurgical and mining segments; and partial sells of electricity and thermal energy to third parties. It also provides transportation and forwarding services. The company was formerly known as Mechel OAO and changed its name to Mechel PAO in March 2016. Mechel PAO was incorporated in 2003 and is based in Moscow, Russia.
