Gary! How did it went with you.. still holding or they did the same with you?!
They closed my positions .. I will sue them
Then I think you have missed some crucial information ...
Bknarf, the relisting. . I knew about and I even bought again today at 11 cents. Closed too right before the move .. its not about the relisting .. its just a fraud by seadrill itself.. brokers got their cut
Whan I buy yesterday the date was without. Whan Thay close my position the reason was close because of date ends W. T. F. ??? Plus500
Ah well, Plus500 closed my position for SDRL shares. I bought at .37 so big loss. Don't think it would have been a big difference if the exchange was executed on the trading platform, maybe the loss would have been a little less, but not by much ... lesson learned ...
Still not able to sell? Guess it depends on the broker. But maybe it is advisable not to sell them at this very moment, as this is some kind of panic sell. Price will go up i presume, but how much is the big question.
The shares will be delisted from the NYSE. How will I be able to sell? . . The "old" common shares (ours) are being sold at a high discount. This is how I interpreted the news. I bought yesterday at 0.11. . . What am I missing?
As I said, it depends on the broker. If the Old Shares that you bought were owned by yourself, then I would expect those shares to be exchanged. Keep in mind tho that for every Old Share, you would get only 0.0037345 New Shares. Maybe your broker is still in the exchange process. On the other hand, of you used some product so that the broker is the owner of the shares, then it can be different what happens. Ask your broker, he should be able to tell you what happens/happend.
After hours quote shows some stabilization at least.
Hold few years, I got same situation here. Got a bit carried away. About -50% on SDRL position...
Well, I just lost a bunch of money :D  Bought at .575.
There will be 3,7 shares for every 1000 old shares. If I got it right. Share value hopefully better. ;)
Some us are new here, does this mean all existing shares will be 0.0037 when market opens tomorrow?
I think this is about the value seadrill has at the moment. and also tomorrow: 53 million that is 1.9% of the Company.. . . . 52,6*53 = about 2,789 billion ?
1.9% of the New Common Shares issued to holders of existing common equity interest in the Company as of the Effective Date, an effective exchange ratio of approximately 0.0037345 New Common Shares per each Existing Share
U mean all existing shares will be converted to 0.0037 from tomorrow?
Because the Company will continue to use the ticker symbol SDRL, holders of Existing Shares, brokers, dealers and agents effecting trades in the Existing Shares, and persons who expect to receive New Common Shares or effect trades in New Common Shares, should take note of the anticipated cancellation of the Existing Shares and issuance of New Common Shares, and the two different CUSIP numbers signifying the Existing Shares and the New Common Shares, in trading or taking any other actions in respect of shares of the Company that trade under the "SDRL" ticker.
Meaning?
New Market value at about 2,5 bllion now. Seadrill has cash 2 billion. Time to buy?
Seadrill is emerging.. ;)
What's going on with this stock?
All depends on valuation of Seadrill after emerging from bankcruptcy. I think new share has a value of about 30usd at least. That would make Seadrill market value about 3 billion?
I red the news but no specification on the the price for the new common shares. True, all depends in new valuation and new price.
Market decides the price! I was just trying to estimate what would it be. Transocean(RIG) is bigger than Seadrill as operator and it is valuated to 6 billion.
Seadrill is emerging from bankcruptcy. Old ownership is diluted.

Yes, I was about to post that one too. So if I'm reading it correctly, tomorrow will be the exchange date. And with a exchange ratio of 0.0037345 New Shares per Existing Share it wil be a big loss ... I'm not sure how my broker will execute it (Plus500). Maybe even close the whole position automatically.

I'm still new. But happens to my shares as if this hits0 or is delisted?
40%
Guys do you know why the price is still going down with 30% daily?
Which is exactly the point. We will only know when it falls to 0
i think its for schlumberger price fall
Well, SDRL is a different story. It might be making new lows to make new highs.. only time will tell. Right now I see this as another buy. If it gets delisted then it's not a huge loss, and just move on. If not then it could be the best investment ever. Like I said time will tell
There you go
Are you okay, Gary. Just noticed that the price fell to 16. Wirh other brokers. Don't why not here yet.
Bought some on Friday. Oil production is up so patience will be rewarded I think.
History will repeat after BK
