Sorry Global K ... just seeing your post. I still like NEM to have some exposure to "gold." My current challenge would be the condition of the broader equity markets right now. NEM could be vulnerable to equity weakness, should the commodity move higher, or NEM could lag the move. NEM's 1.62% yield isn't great, but a little icing. out of 4 stars, I'd say 3. Anglogold another option if you don't mind volatility.

I been holding NEM since it went from 38 to almost 70.. then down...and it never went up again..
Aji, i hate hearing you held the position that long. You could have scaled out of the position at the highs and set the remaining shares on a DRIP for future rises. This would have created a free trade scenario and reduce you capital risk exposure to 0%
U need to understand cyclical play. U should have hold stocks like altria instead with your kind of patience.

NEM does not follow gold price... it feels like a manipulated stock too... only buy now and hold until the gold mania phase arrives.. then sell.. dont look at anything in between because it won't make sense..
