National Bank of Malawi plc, together with its subsidiaries, provides retail, small and medium enterprise, corporate, and investment banking services in Malawi. The company operates through three segments: Retail and Corporate Banking, Treasury, and Other. It offers various deposit products, including savings, current, special savers, student saver, and call accounts, as well as fixed and short term deposits. The company also provides consumer loans, employer guaranteed loans, home improvements and mortgage finance, personal vehicle, and pay-day loans; farm infrastructure and implements loan; and finance lease, and gold and asset finance services, as well as stockbroking, insurance, and pension administration services. In addition, it offers short term, foreign currency, construction, and syndicated loans; finance for exports; international trade finance; bonds and guarantees; and agricultural loans and seasonal overdrafts, as well as various treasury services, such as foreign exchange contract, currency option, foreign currency denominated account, treasury bills, moneygram, custody, and government securities bids and discounting services. Further, the company provides fund management, custodial, development and electronic banking, and training services; derivative products; corporate leasing; and credit and debit cards. It operates service centers in Malawi and Tanzania. The company was founded in 1971 and is headquartered in Blantyre, Malawi. National Bank of Malawi plc is a subsidiary of Press Corporation Plc.
