Merck pill is NOT a VACCINE. People will CONTINUE getting vaccines for protection & preventing spread of the virus. If anybody, especially from potential high risk group patients, got infected, taking pill can be thought as a treatment or preventing hospitilization. Also keep in mind that covid treatment is quite complex, also changing from patient to patient, due to various types complications like myocarditis, cytokin storm, blood clotting etc. Its cost starting from $700 which is about one-third the current cost of a monoclonal antibody treatment. May be an alternative for monoclonal antibody treatment but for sure NOT an alternative instead of VACCINES.
We all know it isn't a vaccine. But if it works in the long run, it may be used to treat alredy vaccinated people who get sick with other diseases. Remember Tamiflu (Oseltamivir)? What if this becomes a medication similiar to that one? NOTHING IS GUARANTEED THOUGH, so if you don't wanna risk losing money on this one, don't even touch it.

‼️A Pfizer jab costs $15 and give you a 95% protection vs 4 Merck pills costs at $2800 and still have a 50% chance to die.
The merck pill is not a vaccine. but a medicine for those people who get covid, and get very ill. even if they have got pfizer or other vac. besides this, the merck pill, can be used in other similar virus outbreaks, in the future.
It is important that it won't be used to treat only unvaccinated people, that isn't even the reason for the creation of that pill. It will probably be used to treat mostly vaccinated people sick with other diseases, not just covid.
