Cannabis stocks ride high on renewed expectations of a bill to open up the financial system to cannabis companies Cannabis stocks rallied on Monday amid fresh speculation that a long-awaited measure to open up the banking system to cannabis companies may be headed into law. Reports surfaced over the weekend that versions of the Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking Act (SAFE Banking Act) may be included in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which is expected to be introduced this week in the House rules committee. The AdvisorShares Pure U.S. Cannabis ETF (MSOS) bucked a downtrend in the broad equities market on Monday and rallied 6.3%. Among individual stocks, Curaleaf Holdings rose 6%, Green Thumb Industries advanced by 4.7%, Trulieve Cannabis Corp. rose 5.2%, Cresco Labs Inc. rose by 9% and Verano Holdings Corp. rose 5.2% and TerrAscend rose 10%. Among Canadian cannabis companies, Tilray Brands Inc. (TLRY) jumped 6.8% and Canopy Growth Corp. (WEED.T) moved up by 5

Chuck Schumer said marijuana banking and expungements bill is 'very close' Mentioned: AAWH CGC CRON MJ MSOS THCX TLRY Shares of U.S. and Canadian cannabis companies rallied Monday after Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Congress is "very close" to passing a cannabis banking and expungements measure. At a debate appearance on Sunday, Schumer said he's made progress with Republican senators about introducing and passing a cannabis bill that would open up banking services for legal pot companies and also erase criminal records for cannabis convictions, as reported by Marijuana Moment. The AdvisorShares Pure U.S. Cannabis ETF is up 7.9%, the Cannabis ETF is gaining 4.3% and the ETFMG Alternative Harvest ETF is advancing by 6.5%. Nevada Judge Orders Board Of Pharmacy To Remove Marijuana From Schedule I Under Agency's 'Unconstitutional' Code - Marijuana MomentA Nevada judge has ruled that the Board of Pharmacy's classification of the drug as a Schedule I substance violates the state Constitution and that the agency 'exceeded its authority' by making that designation.Clark County District Court Judge Joe Hardy has previously determined that the Schedule I classification was unconstitutional based on the fact that the state has legalized it for medical and recreational use. But he withheld judgment at the time about the board's regulatory authority in order to give petitioners and respondents time to submit filings in the case.
