LG Chem, Ltd., together with its subsidiaries, engages in the petrochemicals, advanced materials, and life science businesses in South Korea, China, Asia/Oceania, the United States, Europe, and internationally. It provides petrochemical products, such as ethylene, propylene, butadiene, benzene, polyethylene, polypropylene, BPA, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, polyvinyl chloride, plasticizer, acrylic, super absorbent polymer, synthetic rubber, and special resin. The company also manufactures and sells batteries used in mobile devices, such as mobile phones and laptop PCs, and lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and ESS; and produces and sells lamps. In addition, it produces and sells IT materials in various fields, such as automotive materials, OLED films, and semiconductor materials; and display and battery materials, such as photoresist materials, OLED materials, and cathode materials, as well as water treatment RO filters. Further, the company’s life science business includes medicines, such as Utropin, a human growth hormone; Zemiglo for diabetes treatment; Bustin, a cow's milk enhancer; Yvoar, a hyaluronic acid filler; and Pianker, a rice herbicide, as well as produces and sells chemical products. Additionally, it engages in the manufacture and sale of crop protection agents, fertilizers, and seeds, as well as offers facility management services. LG Chem, Ltd. was founded in 1947 and is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.
