Speaking of the devil, long term debt already increasing faster than even expected. This came in today: Intel To Sell $11B Of Bonds In Seven-Part Deal (rates at 5-6~%). Just unbelieveable . As I said earlier, they taking up debt to pay out stock holders. What a farce.
keep shorting intel ez money 🤡🤡🤡
Insight, don't panic, Intel sold it's bonds at very good price (just 215 BP above treasuries), demand is strong. They follow the roadmap announced long ago. Their products are competitive, AMD beats them mainly due to cheaper prices/lower margins. Now all semis pass through the low phase of the cycle (classical bullwhip effect): I remind that in 2020, when pandemic started, everybody upgraded their hardware; average lifecycle of PC is 3-4 years, so expect by the end of this year situation should start improving.Maybe Intel should temporarily suspended payment of dividends (their competitors like AMD don't do this in any way or pay just tiny fraction of what Intel does).
What your talkin about? What lower margins? Did you compare Intels and AMDs margins at all in Q4 or FY22? AMDs margins are higher than Intels meanwhile. But yes, your conclusion is correct, they should have suspended the dividend already months ago. This would have been the proper and consequent economical approach of dealing with such things. Instead they are reeling around, and even taking up even more unnecessary debts. If there is at least one positive thing to say about all of it, then its that, that they are apparently at least keeping their word to not cut the dividend - at all costs.
