CKX Lands, Inc. (CKX) is engaged in the business of ownership and management of land. The Company's primary activities consist of leasing its properties for minerals in oil and gas, raising and harvesting timber, and surface use (agriculture, right of ways, hunting). The Company's segments are oil and gas, surface and timber. The Company owns land, timber and mineral interests, and collects income through its land ownership in the form of oil and gas royalties and lease rentals and geophysical revenues. The Company is not involved in the exploration or production of oil and gas nor does it actively farm its lands. The Company owns a total of approximately 13,941 net acres all located in Southwest Louisiana. Of the total approximately 13,941 net acres, timber land comprises of approximately 10,495 acres are timber lands, approximately 2,357 net acres are agriculture lands, approximately 895 net acres are marsh lands, and approximately 194 net acres are in metropolitan areas.
