Cargills (Ceylon) PLC engages in the manufacture and trading of food and beverage products in Sri Lanka and internationally. It operates through four segments: Food Retailing, Food and Beverage Manufacturing and Distribution, Restaurant, and Real Estate. It operates retail outlets under the of Food City, Cargills Express, and Food Hal brand names; Cargills Online, an eCommerce platform; shopping and entertainment malls in Cargills square; and Kentucky Fried Chicken and TGIF franchise restaurants. The company also offers diary ice cream, fresh and flavoured milk, yoghurt and yoghurt drinks, curd, cheese, and butter under the Cargills Magic, Heavenly, and Kotmale brands; beverage and culinary products, such as jams, sauces, cordials, fruit-based nectars, fresh juices, energy drinks, mineral water, and condiments under the Kist brand; processed and fresh meats and seafood products, and ready to eat foods under the Finest, Goldi, and Sams brands; and biscuits and confectioneries under the Kist and Kist Magic brands. In addition, the company distributes products of various brands; operates a hotel in the hill-country; produces, imports, and distributes agricultural seeds; poultry breeding and diary farming; operates theatres; offers financial services; and develops real estate properties. The company was founded in 1844 and is headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Cargills (Ceylon) PLC is a subsidiary of C T Holdings PLC.
