I'd be shocked if there was an rate hike before summer 2022. In fact, If we got 1 rate hike by 2022, I would think that would be aggressive. they should try to complete the taper first, and that I think will take years

I think you might be able to buy this around 18.20 next few months. If gold prices stay flat, that would be about 14x price to earnings

eventhough all gold stocks and gold itself is falling it is still holding up pretty well so far compared to other stocks. I bought in on all the G-stocks yesterday and will hold no matter what as I dont see any other good pets in the near term at least for many other stocks. These how ever at very low levels. And also, Long term Gold has gained little in time with relativly low pace... compared to other asset classes like crypto, technology etc....

Well earnings are expected to decline from 1.40ish to 1.25ish so if you believe that... 12x pe is very possible. If we get 1900 gold soon... I would expect the bulls to push this up 60%+

The reason the price to earnings is falling, i think, is because last year they had earnings at I think 45 cents in the summer period. gold was over 2000 an oz then. So earnings are projected to fall if we have stable gold prices in the 1700-1800 range

i do not think it would be an good idea. They already payout close to 20% of profit in dividends, there mines become depleated, they need to reinvest in the business or it just ceases to exist

Barrick and similar companies should be the ones determining gold and silver price not major banks like J&P Morgan.Because Barrick extracts real/physical gold.Whereas banks create gold out of thin air through exchange traded funds. As long as banks determine gold price neither gold can gain value nor stocks like Barrick.

On the other hand these paper funds can go down on any major financial crash because real metal does not cover shares and we know that a major crash in banking will come. So perhaps we should treat it like a discount and load up like the governments and just be patient. I think the future will verify this but I am more afraid of any gold prohibition-like ideas that we know from the past when their butts were on fire. They may need more real physical value in their hands leaving us in the paper world they created. Well, not even paper world... They don't even keep up with printing anymore. Interesting comments Ahmet

Well gld is backed by physical gold no? So yeah, they can short it but they have to cover eventually and take losses. They can short gold and buy the miners. That happens!!!

FED and the major banks made the impossible and they achieved to create gold out of thin air through paper etfs.No one wants physical gold anymore. And hence the price goes down.Companies which produce physical gold go down with it.
