The math will play out something like this after the spinoff: T shares drop to $20 and the new shares of ABC will be worth $10. So if you own 100 shares of T for a total of $3000, then you will own 100 shares of T for a total of $2000 and 100 shares of ABC for a total of $1000. The combined total of ABC will be $3000. I used round numbers to illustrate. I have no idea of the new share prices. The point is your allocation will be changed, but your total value remains the same.
And they are not doing a reverse split. Try reading filings & balance sheets. No insider would buy open market knowing their shares are going to be diluted. Especially when they can just issue themselves stock options. Att is notorious for the later. You're talking out your.. well ya get the point.
They will be given as you sat bonus shares. God you know nothing of what you speak. It's a merger fool. Att will retain 71% then Spin off into a pure 5g/ Telecom company. They'll end up making it a tax free move. It's Att. The insiders don't wanna lose that much in taxes. Each will be a standalone business. They legally can not spin one off from the other without just compensation. Come on mannn
No company wants a lower share price. Especially when doing an acquisition. Jesus man. You think they care about "Retail"...? You watch to much cnbc bs. You think retail dropped the stock 10%+ in a few days? If so read more, learn better and do not ever give anyone else advice of any kind.
