    • Hold is for fools when a company as bad at AT&T is out there. Yestersay somine called my and said should their Mom leave At&T services. Tv, cell, interrnet, cable, etc. They said Mom pays over $300 month with At&t. I said leave them now. I can get yoh all those services for over half that price while getting better service care. AT&T cant make money when they charge 2x thir competition. AT&T will soon neec to lower their operating cost by 1/2 to say in the game.

          • $23 Will not happen. Only Complete stupidity would believe that. Last time it hit 23 was 2010 after markets crashed & before Trillions printed ( inflation ) not to mention beating earnings, their dividend and a 4 year contract signed with the government. Wishful thinking

              • This will go below $27 and will be an opportune time for entry
                1
                • The math will play out something like this after the spinoff: T shares drop to $20 and the new shares of ABC will be worth $10. So if you own 100 shares of T for a total of $3000, then you will own 100 shares of T for a total of $2000 and 100 shares of ABC for a total of $1000. The combined total of ABC will be $3000. I used round numbers to illustrate. I have no idea of the new share prices. The point is your allocation will be changed, but your total value remains the same.

                  • And they are not doing a reverse split. Try reading filings & balance sheets. No insider would buy open market knowing their shares are going to be diluted. Especially when they can just issue themselves stock options. Att is notorious for the later. You're talking out your.. well ya get the point.

                  • They will be given as you sat bonus shares. God you know nothing of what you speak. It's a merger fool. Att will retain 71% then Spin off into a pure 5g/ Telecom company. They'll end up making it a tax free move. It's Att. The insiders don't wanna lose that much in taxes. Each will be a standalone business. They legally can not spin one off from the other without just compensation. Come on mannn

                  • No company wants a lower share price. Especially when doing an acquisition. Jesus man. You think they care about "Retail"...? You watch to much cnbc bs. You think retail dropped the stock 10%+ in a few days? If so read more, learn better and do not ever give anyone else advice of any kind.

                        • will Dividend cut make the stock no longer an aristocrat?
                          1
                          • Frank Mayo80% of institutions who buy it for that one and only reason. Lol.
                            1
                          • exactly. Funds will have to sell it off if it no longer fits the allocation strategy.
                            1
                          • yes it will lose the aristocrat status

                            • Not when your entire share base is dividend driven and your remaining company is the worst of the pack.

                              • This company is a debacle. Its entire share base are dividend people desperately trying to exit. And after this, it cant hold a candle to TMobile and Verizon as a standalone. It's only hope was making something out of HBO max. The spinoff is a joke.
                                4
                                • Totally agree. HBO was the only glimmer of hope. Will only be institutions selling the top and buying the rock bottom for a small dividend and small potential for capital appreciation. I honestly would not be surprised if AT&T is acquired by one of the other big players. Most likely VZ in next 1-2 years.

                              • It's still in an uptrend channel. If it rebound from the lower. Good oportunity to buy.
