Just like the U.S. imposed export restrictions on Nvidia's H20, it can also place export controls on semiconductor equipment. China has already raised tariffs on its own, causing all orders to come to a halt. The real problem is that they could use this equipment to pressure even allied countries. AMAT & LRCX are going to be very necessary if Trump really wants independence.

Massive upside because AMAT does a lot of business in markets that will be stronger than the USA this year and next.

The problem is if the US curbs exports to China. Last earnings call addressed this and they are expecting a hit this year to revenue. Fundamentals also dimished quite a bit for Q1 25.

AMAT is the only semi conductor stock to put out soft guidance for q2 2025 while every single other company had strong guidance despite economic uncertainty. Revenue has become flat. Stay away. invest in Lam Research or if you have the money, ASML.

AMAT, LRCX, & ASML are all good Co's however all 3 have greater than 30% exposure to China. Some weakned in YOY earnings may strengthen as we get rates lower. All 3 are great companies.

All the other semi conductor stocks reported strong earnings and strong guidance going into 2025... Except for AMAT. Either every other company is lying about 2025 guidance and AMAT is wrong or is it the other way?
