Does anyone know where I can learn the major factors that affect the USD/MXN rate?  - I will be exchanging large amounts of Dollars into Pesos over the next couple of months and I want to execute each exchange at the most favorable time.   - Any help is much appreciated. Thank you! Jeff

Jeff Gamby  People are snidely telling you there is no way to tell what will be the best time to exchange.  As a person who has a home in Mexico, I will tell you that in your position I would spread the transactions out, starting today because the peso is over 21 and that's an extraordinary rate.  It was at 6 when I first came to Mexico about 18 years ago.  It gradually climbed and I recall being delighted when it broke 12, and again 14 and then 19 and so on.  Sure it could go up from here, and it could also go down.  So hedge your bets and space your exchanges.  Absolutely no one can tell you the optimal precise point for making the exchange from dollars to pesos and if anyone tries, run like hell away from them because they know not whereof they speak :)

There are several factors that will impact/influence the USD/MXN price action on the fundamental side outside of looking at technical factors. These are the top 4 that I monitor.Oil. Mexico is a net exporter of oil. I’m not sure of the percentage today, but probably close to 30% of MXN gdp was via Pemex and selling oil. Numbers are somewhere between 25 to 35%. So volatility of the WTI futures significantly impacts revenues. Oil pricing, demand, number of rigs producing oil etc…DXY and strength of the dollar, inflation in the US and how the Fed is managing that, communicating those plans/expectations etcBanimex...local governance of inflation and other financial matters within the countryExports/trade numbers

Arturo Herrera predicted the peso to stabilice at 22.3 thu 2021 to cover loses when he lead hacienda, the mx IRS. Despite being a government loyalist and very cautious in his stimations, he was 40 % accurate. Yet he got axed. Expect peso to be at 24.03 by may. GL

you clearly don't understand how this works....more tourists will come down with the weakened peso as their dollar buys more. this actually helps the local economy and the inflation local at 6% has little to do with the dollar exchange....when a currency weakens...there is an influx of buying into that economy...and the same w tourists. this is coming from a Californian who luces here in México.

(BFW) Mexico Needs Aggressive 2022 Hikes, Whoever the Governor IsBy George Lei(Bloomberg) -- Mexico’s local press reports that formerfinance minister Arturo Herrera won’t be named as next governorof Banxico, after all. President Lopez Obrador announced thenomination back in June. Whoever takes over as the new governor, the combination of a rapidly weakening peso, inflation at a two-decade high and worsening CPI expectations points to the needfor more, not less, monetary tightening in 2022. November’s biweekly CPI reading for Mexico is tomorrowexpected to show prices soaring 6.88% year-over-year, thehighest level since May 2001. On Monday, consensus economistestimate in the biweekly Citibanamex survey pointed to inflatiing 2020 at 7%, also a two-decade peak. To make mattersworse, the peso has tumbled more than 3% so far in November --the biggest monthly drop since January -- adding to pass-throughinflationary pressure. Some Banxico board members, led by Jonathan

In the last 30 days the correlation between the Turkish lira and the MXN is 77%, but if we take the last 10 days it is 94%, as I had told you before, the liquidity of the MXN makes it a hedge proxy of many EM ccy and in some cases even hard currencies
