You do not have to worry about my money :)I definitely make money shorting this pair. The higher it goes the saver my investments are. USD is still alive only because it has status of world reserve currency. But you cannot fool fundamentals for long. I am not in rush, so come on, push it higher, so I can sell more

the first three months of this year, the U.S. trade deficit totals $212.8 billion, with record monthly deficit of 74.4 billions dollor in march. is this a good thing for its ecconomy and USD? definitely not i think USD is too much overvalued with many its peers and MXN.

Not sure if I agree. Trade deficit and government deficit are two different things. US dollar is if anything undervalued and the Peso is only at the value it is because of a spillover from US deficit spending. Mexican economy is not in good shape. And the chip shortages are going to hit MX manufacturing hard. Ford shut lines for a few weeks. Would not be surprised if that continued.

One of the Subway trains in Mexico City fell 500 ft to the ground after the bridge holding the raíles collapsed on top of a busy road. 23 dead. 70+ hurt. Mexico's infrastructure is in great shape, huh?

That is sad for those affected by that! Mexico's infrastructure has serious issues, as in the US. The drought conditions are also very serious. Mexico needs huge investments in water storage, which is not being addressed to any satisfactory solutions, except to ask at citizens to conserve.

Robert Burris Yes, infrastructure and drought are both serious in Mexico.  I know you'd agree that in re infrastructure, the U.S. should not be taking any victory laps either.  They've had their share of bridge collapses.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if these two countries could work together to solve some of these problems?  But competition seems more important than cooperation, sadly.

Targets intact. Dollar will not break 20.3 before end of april, first week of may will show volatility, but I expect a band of 19.9 thp 20.5 thru may until elections, unless amlo attempts to abolish INE. Highly unlikely. If he does attempt expect 25

Economists at Credit Suisse look for USD/MXN downside to be limited to 20.00 and would look to fade rallies back to 20.77. USD/MXN downside to be limited to 20.00 “We are moderately constructive over the medium-term on MXN, as we see potential for US demand spillover into Mexico to translate in better local economic data, with positive implications for the currency .”  “Dips in USD/MXN below 20.00 are likely to be limited, and that a correction higher in the pair is likely needed, ideally back towards the 200-DMA at 20.77, for USD/MXN downside to offer good risk-reward to those looking to go long MXN as an expression of US demand spillover and/or of positive BOP externalities.”

HI again just back after a well deserved vacation ! Market apparently taking with great positivism the trade surplus we have had with the USA this year, possibly also thinking that the carry trade could be re-founded with the FED keep the rate and Banxico rise here (not in the next monetary policy decision-making meeting), in addition, S&P in historical highs and with reports ahead this month which could lead to testing support levels USDMXN  of 19.9000/8500, but personally I think once agaib is aa good level to entry or add some long USDMXN position
