Banxico just made a cut to it's foreign exchange coverage program, explains why it jumped from 16.75 to 16.90
maybe they are trying to save money to keep up with paying interests at a so high rate
With the 2024 Mexican presidential election less than a year away, political analysts and academics warn of a wave of fake news and disinformation making the rounds on the internet, a trend they deem especially worrisome as some of the falsehoods seem to come from the party in power —and the president himself.
can you imagine all the data about growth rates were fake? Money goes back to safe haven currency of usd.
Today's close: 16.40Tomorrow's close: 16.10Friday's close: 15.80
Hahahahahahaha! What's the rate for Monday of next week?
You’re absolutely right, but you meant the opposite, correct?
You must be the same guy in a Mexican FB group that was saying the same thing. Note to self: Don't ever listen to this guy as he doesn't have a clue, Lol
This is seriously turning into a runaway train. Make it stop
Jajaja after elections next year is going back to nomal $22 - $24 for next 5 years
This volatility at night makes no sense.
In fact, the super-peso is strengthening against ALL the major currencies.
Why is dropping so sharply and it's the middle of the night in America? This makes no sense. But it seems like the super-peso just wants to continue strengthening despite the softer-than-expected GDP numbers in Mexico and the recovering DXY. This seems odd that the pair would fluctuate so wildly at midnight.
Fast Down USD is Posible, if dollar < 9 then danger
Next supports: 16.62 (YTD), 16.33 (October 2015 low), 16.00
Actually, Mexico is gonna get more expensive for those earning in other currencies like CAD or EUR if the super-peso trend continues.
Mexico is only gonna get more and more expensive for those earning in USD from here on out. Super peso ain't goin' nowhere.
SOS!! USD is in a rapid descent.
Apologies... 16.00 by year's end... 🫶🏼

Just to make sure I understand, If I am living off of the peso and need to convert usd to mxn I would want to buy pesos with usd when there is a strong sell recomendation?
Absolutely not. Those are meant for traders using technical indicators to know when to buy or sell this pair but has no relevance on when to exchange physical currency. If you don't mind me asking, where are you located?
I live in Mexico permanently.
I would invest in CETES if possible Blaine
Any help below is appreciated (trying to understand basic concepts)In the USD/MXN, USD is the base currency and MXN the quote currency...Question: What does the data analyses indicator STRONG BUY mean? Does STRONG BUY refer to buy USD or does it refer to to buy MXN?
buy usd against mxn. In short, strong buy USD/MXN
All currency pairs are the same. The fist listed is the base. Buy recommendation are to buy or go long the dollar in this case...a sell, would be to sell the dollar and look for continued appreciation in the peso.
it will never going to reach 17.50
poor delusional
cope harder
hard to come back down below 17 ... it will settle around 17.50 ... depends on 3 key factors USA'S economy and news incoming USD investment towards Mexico (keep eyes on tourism investment in southern Mexico) and foreign key developments such as Ukraine Russia conflict (Poland's behaviour) or US China conflict.
Africa
Africa not so important to Mexico's developments but Africa can weaken USA even more ... more money to the pit ... weak USD... the USA shouldn't get involved let France do the dirty job ... USA should keep eyes on China
Is correct
$16.5 tomorrow
18-18.5 on the way heading towards the end of the year, just as the largest banks in Mexico forecasted.
