1.12 again..the more we wait the more chances it has of going up! For several reasons to note: 1) the moving averages are getting tighter, so a close above them could change the algos trading strategies...and 2) with MM record short -- weather or profit booking can catapult prices in a matter of hours / days.

If today is a bear trap that will open a channel to 120. If it can't hold then it will re-test the 106 bottom again.

If I were a roaster or other commercial, at this price I would like to purchase all available coffee. 5 year bottom could not last long but weather/crop troubles are still likely anytime.

i can tell you that the roaster is happy with this price. With a little marketing blabla he get a win of 400% instead of 350%. The colombian farmer has a profit of 56 Pesos or 0,0195 $ por kilo.....

don´t rule us out just yet...this doesn´t look like a selling opportunity AT ALL...it looks more like a pause. It looks like over 1.12 is in the cards...and from there it could really go...look at the volume counts.

Let´s see if this is a dip to close shorts, or as Martinezzz did, an opportunity to short at 1.1260 (which is the 20-day MA today). This becomes a discussion about the -89.5k net MM positions (which blew away the previous 5-year record) being able to continue pressing -- and if so: how much further down -- or if the whole short-thesis falls apart based on anything else: from profit booking to potential frosty weather in Brazil. I continue to bet on an imminent explosion in prices -- unwarranted by fundamentals (since harvest is expected to be on the larger-side) -- but probable since MM are artificially holding prices down.

Volume is +11k with 15 minutes to go still, until the open of the NY session. As a side note: last time we had +10k in volume by 9:30am EST was a couple of fridays ago when KC went up 700 bps from 1.07 to 1.14. . I am almost certain that with high-volume days -- especially between today/tomorrow -- we would be in a position to challenge the 50-day MA at 1.17.

A drought in the Centre/South Brazil could impact coffee crops in 2019/20, Reuters cited analysts as saying, with rains later this year seen as more crucial than usual for plant development after a very dry southern autumn. So it is not about the frost ;)

BREAKING: Cold Front Hits Brazil’s Parana Coffee Regions With Frost In 3-Day Attack.  Share...00.0.33.0.JULY 20, 2017, 01:28EDT–Brazil’s southern coffee belt continued to register very cold weather early on Thursday with the Parana coffee regions of Jesuitas and Campo Mourao hit for third consecutive day with temperatures between +3C and +4°C, at which level, if exposed for a longer period of time as in the case of Jesuitas, coffee trees and crop can suffer frost damage.

I would like to have several contracts open before the final reverse for the major rally , do I think,  is there a chance that this is it ? I don't  I have a shred of doubt that this is not it.and why ? .bottoms take place on con tango but not real reversal rallies , you will always see the contango between the front month and the back month getting down to maybe half a point or a point, Now it's almost 4 points when you see this happen your antenna's suppose to go up...it's a sign but it doesn't tell you we will rally the coming week, last time I see such a sign in coffee, when we rolled over it was half to a point we rallied in about 3 weeks, this was the major rlly in 2016.

but you know what if the dollar just go down to it's consolidation range this rally can go to 124 , just based on many traders will think we double bottomed . and I was planning to exit at 115 for the single contract I am holding but if I see the dollar continue to go down, I will not exit.

I believe coffee can pass 113 as long as the dollar keep heading down, I think 115 is the lows of major resistance because it used to be major support , so now it becomes resistance , and of course keep your eye on currency , because that's why we rallied above 2% , coffee is very week that's why currency is playing a major role in direction.

No fear of frost. For bulls is important that there will be no precipitation.. Trees are under stress of bulky cherries load and now without moisture next crop will be significantly lower.

Heard that the farmers in several areas are having problems with the soil and dry climate. So more farmers changing growing over to Cocoa and other alternatives as the Price level also is at too low margin, this will have to boost sooner or later. 150 is a possible long term Target.
