Price of beef is OK for cattle ranchers, what is really HURTING them now is the price of diesel to run tractors, irrigation equipment, and transportation of live cattle to market from remote ranch locations.

so I go t o local grocery stores. check steak prices. at 20 and 25 dollars a lb.no one buying so what happens to the meat. makes no sense to sell a product to high. no sales so prices drop. or. cattle out of business I was brought up with plan to control market and prices stabilize. I see this wrong way pricing in every business. no one understands true cost.

Amazing….,$142.40. When I was feeding cattle 45 years ago, cost of gains were ~42 cents/lb and 60 cent fats made about $30/head.
