My error - did close up in M, N & Q.  So Great For you guys!  I'm in the Oct, the only one to go down.  (Don't know this market well enough to say why.)  So Long's comment does make better market support more likely.
Didn't fill, didn't close higher, wasn't the bottom.  I'm still thinking that we won't go to 45.  For whatever it's worth, here's a snippet from Jim Long's commentary regarding some comeback in the packing plants: Weekly Hog Harvests totals:     Week of May 1st – 1.553 million     Week of May 8th – 1.775 million     Week of May 15th – 2.103 million     Last Year May 15th – 2.352 million He says "It’s good to see a 500,000 head improvement in the last two weeks."  It is, but it hasn't reflected so much yet in the Lean Hogs market.
Guess it was bottom today
Heh!  If any of us knew that it would be too easy!  And Ben may still be expecting that 45 "is getting closer" - which it is!  But yeah, it is beginning to feel like "the worst is over."  If you are right and that was the bottom then tomorrow's (Thurs) close will be higher than today's.  I wouldn't count on it.  And with the hog overburden and the processing slowdowns it's very tough to be that sure.  But I have a small position and a couple buy orders below today's lows.  If they fill and we close up then I'll be in fat city.  If.  If it's then up for a couple of days & also late next week then I'll add to the position.  But I would not be surprised to see a drop to 51 or 52 in the July between now & then.  Good Luck Dmitry!  Joe
Why is this dropping? Isn't demand supposed to go up?
Worst time is over
A lot of packworkers caught cold
Any ideas?
I guess it goes up after correction
What is your estimation, how low will it go. Normally we are now coming into the season, when hog prices go up sharply.
I guess not lower then 50S
Demand = supply, and demand is growing further.
Hmm.  But today closed lower . . .
Supply > Demand
The May, only one more day of trading left, sorta the same as spot, has been around 67 or 68 for about a week.  The June is about a dime lower and expires in a coupla days.  Because, as you say, "Supply > Demand," the price can keep creeping lower, but I guess I'm thinkin that the June has already been to 45 and it won't go that low.  My guess - not lower than 53.5.  Just keep a close eye on it . . .
