When you think of Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, data analysis tools for financial markets likely aren’t the first thing to come to mind. But that’s precisely the type of deal that we introduced this year at Investing.com — and based on the results, we’re hoping that it’s the beginning of a new annual tradition.
For Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we poured substantial marketing resources and human capital into a multi-platform campaign that offered up to 60% off on our InvestingPro premium service — which offers retail investors enhanced financial tools at an affordable price, empowering them to more effectively compete with institutional investors.
We promoted the campaign through virtually all possible avenues, including mass mail, social media, our website’s homepage banner, analysis articles, an app store event, an in-app message banner, push notifications, an app landing page and the InvestingPro landing page, to name a few. We channeled the ingenuity of team members from across the company, including in creative, product marketing, GLOPs, R&D, QA, pro squad, UI & UX, design, mobile UX, translations, product, content, RevUX, ASO, support, emails, and marketing & UA. The campaign distributed over 40 million emails; and featured over 60 creatives and 1,600 banners across 25 languages.
And what was the outcome? InvestingPro gained 10,000 new subscribers, including approximately 80% who committed to a plan of one year or more, as opposed to a month-to-month subscription.
Why exactly did we launch this campaign? Investing in tech companies was almost too easy for the last 10 years: buy a growing company with an innovative model, then sit back and watch the stock grow. Well, that abruptly changed in 2022. Tech fell out of fashion, business profits became essential, and investors were forced to relearn a constantly changing market. These were difficult times.
