WANdisco (WAND) has announced that its current CFO, Nick Parker, is to step down in September. He will be replaced by Paul Harrison, who is currently CFO of UK accounting software group Sage, once again demonstrating the company’s exceptional pulling power in recruiting senior staff.
Following on from the acquisition of AltoStor, through which the company recruited senior engineers who played a central role in the creation of Hadoop, WANdisco has once again demonstrated exceptional pulling power in hiring high-calibre senior staff. Mr Harrison has been CFO of Sage (£4bn market capitalisation, £1.3bn annual sales) since April 2000 and will be leaving this role to join WANdisco from 1 September 2013.
The move stems from the company's desire to locate the CFO and CEO together in the company's headquarters in California. The significant majority of its business is conducted in the US and is also where the large majority of WANdisco’s peers reside.
Mr Harrison's depth of experience within the technology sector, and possibly also in M&A, are likely to be valuable assets.
