US stock futures are lower this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 87 points to 13,045.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 10.40 points to 1,398.40. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 19.25 points to 2,759.75.
US stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.49% to 13,199.55, the S&P 500 index declining 0.40% to 1,413.38 and the Nasdaq 100 index dipping 0.20% to 3,113.57.
Automatic Data Processing's estimate of March private-sector payroll activity will be released at 8:15 a.m. ET. The Institute for Supply Management's March services gauge will be released at 10 a.m. ET.
MSC Industrial Direct Co (NYSE: MSM) is projected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.95 per share on revenue of $554.6 million. Acuity Brands Inc (NYSE: AYI) is projected to report its FQ2 earnings at $0.62 per share on revenue of $455.8 million.
National American University Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: NAUH) is estimated to post its Q3 EPS at $0.07 on revenue of $30.27 million. Monsanto Co. (NYSE: MON) is projected to post its FQ2 earnings at $2.11 per share on revenue of $4.53 billion.
PriceSmart Inc (NASDAQ: PSMT) is estimated to post its quarterly earnings at $0.69 per share on revenue of $539.68 million. Ruby Tuesday Inc (NYSE: RT) is estimated to post its Q3 EPS at $0.16 on revenue of $339.03 million.
Mitcham Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: MIND) reported a rise in its fourth-quarter results.
SanDisk Corp (NASDAQ: SNDK) lowered its quarterly revenue forecast.
European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index dropped 1%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 1.14%, French CAC 40 index fell 1.24% and German DAX 30 index dropped 1.70%.
Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropping 2.29% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 0.12%. India's Sensex dropped 0.63%.
Nymex crude dropped $0.72 to $103.29 a barrel in recent action. However, gold futures fell $36.70 to $1,633.30 an ounce.
The Dollar Index gained 0.25% to 79.59. The euro declined 0.4% against the dollar to trade at $1.3175. The US dollar dropped 0.7% versus the Japanese yen to trade at 108.34 yen.
