US Stock Futures Down Ahead Of Fed Minutes: April 3, 2012

US stock futures are lower this morning, ahead of factory orders and minutes of the recent Fed meeting. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 20 points to 13,169.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 2.20 points to 1,410.40. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 2 points to 2,775.00.

US stocks closed higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.40% to 13,264.49, the S&P 500 index rising 0.75% to 1,419.04 and the Nasdaq 100 index surging 0.91% to 3,119.70.

Data on March car sales will be released at 9 a.m. ET. However, factory orders for February will be released at 10 a.m. ET. Minutes of the recent Federal Open Market Committee meeting will be released at 2 p.m. ET.

Team Inc (NYSE: TISI) is expected to post its Q3 EPS at $0.18 on revenue of $127.53 million. Conn's Inc (NASDAQ: CONN) is projected to post its Q4 earnings at $0.29 per share on revenue of $221.4 million. Mitcham Industries Inc (NASDAQ: MIND) is estimated to post its Q4 EPS at $0.57 on revenue of $31.07 million.

International Speedway Corp (NASDAQ: ISCA) is projected to post its FQ1 earnings at $0.39 per share on revenue of $134.5 million. Comverse Technology Inc (NASDAQ: CMVT) is projected to post its quarterly earnings at $0.16 per share on revenue of $427.35 million.

Cavium Inc (NASDAQ: CAVM) lowered its first-quarter forecast.

Avon Products Inc (NYSE: AVP) rejected a $10 billion unsolicited bid from Coty Inc.

European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index dropped 0.16%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.14%, French CAC 40 index fell 0.25% and German DAX 30 index dropped 0.01%.

Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropping 0.59% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.18%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose 1.31% and India's Sensex gained 0.67%.

Crude-oil for May delivery dropped $0.67 to $104.56 a barrel. However, gold for June delivery fell $2.10 to $1,677.40 an ounce.

The Dollar Index (DXY) dropped 0.09% to 78.81, down from 78.973 in North American trade late Monday.
