The company’s ultra-dense server, featuring dual top-bin CPUs and 8 NVIDIA HGX GPUs in a 4U form factor with liquid cooling, is being touted as the “ultimate AI server.”
This advanced cooling technology can manage servers approaching 12kW of power, necessary for AI and high-performance computing workloads, with a single AI rack now capable of generating over 100kW of heat.
The adoption of liquid cooling has led to significant efficiency gains. Super Micro reports up to 40% power reduction, allowing for more AI servers within a fixed power envelope.
Additionally, their solutions can achieve up to 40% energy savings for infrastructure and 80% space savings. The company’s innovative approach supports warm water cooling up to 113°F (45°C) and has achieved a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of less than 1.1 with their Direct Liquid Cooling solutions.
