Lincoln National Corp’s (NYSE:LNC) Retirement Plan Services business recently announced the launch of Lincoln Financial Mobile App compatible with Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Watch, available in the Apple Store. The app is dependant on wirelessly connected iPhone. It enables users to check their account balance, retirement income projection and asset allocation on their Apple Watch.

Innovation Boosts Investor Confidence

Lincoln National has always been enhancing its product lines through new product launches and existing product upgrades in order to remain competitive. These efforts are appreciated by investors, as evident from its price performance. In the last year, its shares have gained 54.1%, outperforming the industry’s rally of 27.2%.

How the App Aids Customers

With this new Apple Watch-compatible app, Lincoln National intends to make managing retired life easier for its customers. Apple Watch users will be able to conveniently keep a track of their retirement related plans, savings and other financial priorities with the help of this app. The app can be considered the latest customer experience enhancement by Lincoln National’s Retirement Plan Services, which aims to provide high-touch and high-tech service to the customers to drive better outcomes.

The Apple Watch enables Lincoln National to connect with participants and encourage them to meet their retirement goals through required actions. As a participant can easily track the income projection and make changes to their contribution accordingly, planning for retirement becomes convenient for them.

Rationale Behind the Launch

According to Lincoln National’s 2017 Retirement PowerParticipant Study, only 36% of individuals with eight or more competing priorities are contributing nearly 10% or more to their retirement plan. The company looks forward to increased participation in retirement plans with the launch of this new app.
