Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Finance & Investment and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.63%, while the ADX General index declined 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 8.32% or 0.074 points to trade at 0.963 at the close. Meanwhile, DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) added 4.49% or 0.070 points to end at 1.630 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) was up 2.15% or 0.140 points to 6.650 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which fell 2.68% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.450 at the close. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) declined 2.49% or 0.070 points to end at 2.740 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was down 1.25% or 0.100 points to 7.900.
The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 9.62% to 1.71, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which was up 8.20% to settle at 3.30 and Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which gained 5.45% to close at 0.580.
The worst performers were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was down 9.20% to 0.790 in late trade, Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which lost 2.91% to settle at 5.00 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which was down 1.88% to 8.34 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 20 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 13 fell and 9 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.32% or 0.074 to 0.963. Shares in AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.68% or 0.040 to 1.450. Shares in Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.45% or 0.030 to 0.580.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.04% or 0.54 to $51.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.04% or 0.55 to hit $52.12 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1271.55 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.01% to 3.6727, while EUR/AED rose 0.03% to 4.0315.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 97.94.
