United Arab Emirates stocks mixed at close of trade; DFM General up 0.25%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Transport sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Insurance and Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.25% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index fell 0.09%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 5.97% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.444 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 3.42% or 0.018 points to end at 0.544 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was up 2.71% or 0.240 points to 9.100 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which fell 3.82% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.629 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 1.82% or 0.010 points to end at 0.540 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) was down 1.56% or 0.020 points to 1.260.

The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which rose 5.56% to 0.90, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 2.96% to settle at 2.78 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 1.89% to close at 0.540.

The worst performers were Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 3.19% to 0.910 in late trade, First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which lost 1.07% to settle at 13.90 and Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 0.74% to 2.70 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 14 to 12; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 15 rose and 5 declined, while 1 ended unchanged.

Shares in Finance House (AD:FH) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.74% or 0.02 to 2.70.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.26% or 0.13 to $49.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.49% or 0.26 to hit $53.17 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.92% or 10.60 to trade at $1166.50 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED rose 0.07% to 4.1755.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 94.80.
