United Arab Emirates stocks mixed at close of trade; DFM General down 0.78%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Transport and Banking sectors led shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Insurance and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.78%, while the ADX General index added 0.24%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 2.68% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.537 at the close. Meanwhile, Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) added 1.03% or 0.090 points to end at 8.840 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was up 0.84% or 0.010 points to 1.200 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 9.76% or 0.160 points to trade at 1.480 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 3.18% or 0.019 points to end at 0.578 and Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) was down 3.04% or 0.160 points to 5.100.

The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 8.59% to 6.95, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was up 3.81% to settle at 8.18 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 1.61% to close at 0.630.

The worst performers were Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which was down 5.66% to 1.00 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which lost 3.70% to settle at 2.60 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.85% to 0.540 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 21 to 5 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 13 rose and 9 declined, while 1 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for November delivery was down 3.22% or 1.51 to $45.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.91% or 0.94 to hit $47.98 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.74% or 8.40 to trade at $1124.40 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6725, while EUR/AED fell 0.64% to 4.0851.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 96.50.
