Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the Finance & Investment, Services and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.59%, while the ADX General index gained 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 1.51% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.470 at the close. Meanwhile, Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) added 0.80% or 0.006 points to end at 0.759 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) was up 0.79% or 0.010 points to 1.260 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which fell 4.03% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.190 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 2.55% or 0.014 points to end at 0.535 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was down 2.27% or 0.040 points to 1.720.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 5.66% to 2.80, Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which was up 1.95% to settle at 15.65 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 1.67% to close at 0.610.
The worst performers were Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was down 10.00% to 2.25 in late trade, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which lost 3.80% to settle at 1.52 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.89% to 0.530 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 17 to 7 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 15 fell and 8 advanced, while 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 1.95% or 0.30 to 15.65.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.10% or 0.04 to $46.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.31% or 0.15 to hit $48.46 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.28% or 3.30 to trade at $1176.10 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6733, while EUR/AED rose 0.44% to 4.1793.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 94.67.
