Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Insurance, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher while losses in the Services, Telecoms and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.49%, while the ADX General index added 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 9.05% or 0.073 points to trade at 0.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 4.96% or 0.030 points to end at 0.635 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was up 4.47% or 0.026 points to 0.608 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT), which fell 1.84% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.909 at the close. Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) declined 1.80% or 0.06 points to end at 3.28 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was down 1.31% or 0.020 points to 1.530.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 13.73% to 0.580, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which was up 12.50% to settle at 1.08 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 4.69% to close at 0.670.
The worst performers were Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which was down 6.90% to 2.70 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 4.21% to settle at 2.50 and Union Natl Bk (AD:UNB) which was down 2.70% to 6.86 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 13 to 13 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 fell and 9 advanced, while 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.90% or 0.20 to 2.70.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.48% or 1.41 to $55.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.44% or 1.51 to hit $60.55 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.37% or 4.30 to trade at $1167.80 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.29% to 4.0830.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 96.38.
