Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Transport and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.84%, while the ADX General index declined 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 4.15% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.010 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 3.80% or 0.019 points to end at 0.519 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 3.31% or 0.040 points to 1.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR), which fell 3.21% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.512 at the close. Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) declined 2.78% or 0.020 points to end at 0.700 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was down 2.77% or 0.028 points to 0.982.
The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 1.31% to 1.55, First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which was up 0.84% to settle at 12.00 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which gained 0.68% to close at 8.90.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 10.00% to 2.700 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which lost 6.90% to settle at 0.540 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 3.03% to 0.9600 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 26 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 fell and 8 advanced, while 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.15% or 0.080 to 2.010. Shares in SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.31% or 0.040 to 1.250.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $44.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.26% or 0.12 to hit $46.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 2.57% or 32.70 to trade at $1307.20 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.66% to 4.0751.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 97.29.
