United Arab Emirates stocks lower at close of trade; DFM General down 0.25%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Services and Transport sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.25%, while the ADX General index declined 1.66%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 7.48% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.580 at the close. Meanwhile, Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) added 3.51% or 0.017 points to end at 0.502 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was up 2.32% or 0.012 points to 0.530 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA), which fell 2.10% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.467 at the close. DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) declined 1.94% or 0.030 points to end at 1.520 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was down 1.75% or 0.070 points to 3.930.

The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which rose 14.76% to 2.410, Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was up 9.62% to settle at 1.1400 and Methaq (AD:METH) which gained 4.76% to close at 0.880.

The worst performers were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was down 9.72% to 0.650 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 4.14% to settle at 1.39 and First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which was down 2.92% to 11.65 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 21 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 15 fell and 8 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged.

Shares in SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.48% or 0.110 to 1.580. Shares in Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.72% or 0.070 to 0.650. Shares in Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.62% or 0.1000 to 1.1400.

Crude oil for January delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $46.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.69% or 0.32 to hit $46.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.74% or 9.00 to trade at $1207.90 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.37% to 3.8886.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 101.41.
