United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 4.61%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Finance & Investment and Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 4.61%, while the ADX General index gained 1.63%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 14.40% or 0.072 points to trade at 0.572 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) added 13.00% or 0.130 points to end at 1.130 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was up 10.11% or 0.090 points to 0.980 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 6.88% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.600 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) declined 0.86% or 0.01 points to end at 1.15 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was down 0.36% or 0.002 points to 0.556.

The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 13.64% to 0.500, Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was up 12.29% to settle at 7.49 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 11.76% to close at 0.570.

The worst performers were Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 3.77% to 0.510 in late trade, First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which lost 2.17% to settle at 13.50 and Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 1.00% to 1.00 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 24 to 3; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 17 rose and 5 declined, while 1 ended unchanged.

Shares in Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) fell to 3-years lows; falling 0.36% or 0.002 to 0.556. Shares in Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) fell to all time lows; losing 3.77% or 0.020 to 0.510.

Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.90% or 1.11 to $39.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.97% or 1.27 to hit $43.96 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.34% or 3.90 to trade at $1149.70 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.93% to 4.2263.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 94.01.
