United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 1.39%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 1.39%, while the ADX General index added 1.16%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV), which rose 3.59% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.020 at the close. Meanwhile, Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) added 3.15% or 0.040 points to end at 1.310 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 3.03% or 0.110 points to 3.740 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which fell 2.27% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.517 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 0.86% or 0.004 points to end at 0.461 and Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 6.300.

The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which rose 13.95% to 2.450, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was up 5.38% to settle at 1.370 and First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which gained 3.77% to close at 11.00.

The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 2.63% to 0.370 in late trade, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which lost 1.85% to settle at 2.650 and Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 1.11% to 1.780 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 27 to 5 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 11 rose and 9 declined, while 7 ended unchanged.

Shares in Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.86% or 0.004 to 0.461. Shares in Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.85% or 0.050 to 2.650.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.98% or 0.49 to $50.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.83% or 0.43 to hit $51.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.47% or 5.85 to trade at $1262.45 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.06% to 4.0431.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 97.72.
