Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Finance & Investment sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 1.12%, while the ADX General index added 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC), which rose 14.90% or 0.450 points to trade at 3.470 at the close. Meanwhile, Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 8.04% or 0.09 points to end at 1.21 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was up 3.81% or 0.040 points to 1.090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which fell 2.01% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.460 at the close. AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) declined 0.62% or 0.010 points to end at 1.610 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was down 0.59% or 0.050 points to 8.450.
The top performers on the ADX General were Methaq (AD:METH) which rose 8.05% to 0.940, Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was up 5.56% to settle at 1.900 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 5.24% to close at 6.83.
The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 9.52% to 0.380 in late trade, Buhaira Nat In (AD:ABNI) which lost 2.52% to settle at 2.320 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 1.54% to 1.280 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 31 to 4 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 16 rose and 8 declined, while 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.14% or 0.06 to $41.99 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.34% or 0.15 to hit $44.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.86% or 25.45 to trade at $1341.95 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.33% to 4.0748.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 96.19.
