United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 0.99%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Banking sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.99%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.75%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which rose 5.97% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.420 at the close. Meanwhile, Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) added 4.86% or 0.14 points to end at 3.02 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was up 4.17% or 0.020 points to 0.500 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 5.00% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.710 at the close. ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) declined 2.14% or 0.070 points to end at 3.200 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was down 1.80% or 0.150 points to 8.350.

The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 4.65% to 0.450, Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was up 4.11% to settle at 0.760 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which gained 2.63% to close at 2.34.

The worst performers were National Corp Tourism Hotels (AD:NCTH) which was down 10.00% to 4.05 in late trade, Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which lost 6.67% to settle at 0.84 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was down 2.00% to 2.45 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 10; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 13 rose and 11 declined, while 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.00% or 0.05 to 2.45.

Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.37% or 0.17 to $44.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.59% or 0.28 to hit $48.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.34% or 3.70 to trade at $1091.40 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.31% to 3.9560.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 99.06.
