United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 0.78%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Consumer Staples and Transport sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.78%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.54%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 9.82% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.230 at the close. Meanwhile, AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) added 2.76% or 0.050 points to end at 1.810 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) was up 2.46% or 0.03 points to 1.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which fell 3.08% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.535 at the close. Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) declined 2.23% or 0.200 points to end at 8.750 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was down 1.97% or 0.06 points to 2.98.

The top performers on the ADX General were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which rose 7.35% to 0.730, Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which was up 4.64% to settle at 2.48 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which gained 4.43% to close at 1.65.

The worst performers were Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 9.76% to 2.22 in late trade, Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which lost 1.18% to settle at 4.19 and Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which was down 1.02% to 0.98 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 11; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 18 rose and 5 declined, while 1 ended unchanged.

Shares in Finance House (AD:FH) fell to all time lows; losing 9.76% or 0.24 to 2.22. Shares in Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.18% or 0.05 to 4.19.

Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.82% or 0.38 to $46.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.76% or 0.37 to hit $49.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.39% or 4.40 to trade at $1131.50 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.33% to 4.0323.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 97.21.
