Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.73%, while the ADX General index gained 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT), which rose 6.43% or 0.046 points to trade at 0.761 at the close. Meanwhile, Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) added 4.89% or 0.090 points to end at 1.930 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 2.99% or 0.018 points to 0.620 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which fell 9.79% or 0.14 points to trade at 1.29 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 2.82% or 0.016 points to end at 0.551 and Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) was down 1.94% or 0.06 points to 3.03.
The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which rose 8.24% to 0.92, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 7.69% to settle at 2.80 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which gained 5.96% to close at 1.60.
The worst performers were Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was down 5.56% to 3.40 in late trade, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which lost 1.94% to settle at 1.01 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.82% to 0.550 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 19 to 7; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 rose and 7 declined.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.20% or 0.99 to $46.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.84% or 0.89 to hit $49.26 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.25% or 2.80 to trade at $1112.40 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.23% to 4.0955.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 96.55.
