United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 0.31%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.31%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.58%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 7.00% or 0.031 points to trade at 0.474 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 3.33% or 0.018 points to end at 0.559 and Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) was up 2.13% or 0.110 points to 5.280 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which fell 9.48% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.05 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 1.36% or 0.012 points to end at 0.870 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was down 1.19% or 0.010 points to 0.830.

The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 14.29% to 0.400, First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which was up 2.22% to settle at 11.50 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which gained 0.69% to close at 8.81.

The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 3.57% to 0.540 in late trade, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which lost 1.41% to settle at 2.800 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 1.33% to 0.7400 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 12 and 9 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 fell and 5 advanced, while 10 ended unchanged.

Shares in Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.48% or 0.11 to 1.05.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.72% or 0.36 to $50.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.94% or 0.49 to hit $52.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.97% or 12.15 to trade at $1264.05 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.33% to 4.1018.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 96.75.
