United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 0.28%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.28%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.32%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB), which rose 2.85% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.420 at the close. Meanwhile, Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) added 2.27% or 0.130 points to end at 5.850 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 1.97% or 0.011 points to 0.569 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which fell 3.25% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.19 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 1.92% or 0.010 points to end at 0.510 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was down 1.87% or 0.020 points to 1.050.

The top performers on the ADX General were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which rose 4.94% to 0.850, Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which was up 2.37% to settle at 8.20 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which gained 1.49% to close at 3.40.

The worst performers were Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 3.66% to 0.790 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 3.27% to settle at 1.48 and Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 2.06% to 1.90 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 23 to 6 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 14 fell and 7 advanced, while 9 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.22% or 0.11 to $49.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $49.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1216.70 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.74% to 4.0816.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.62% at 95.73.
