United Arab Emirates stocks higher at close of trade; DFM General up 0.19%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.19% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index climbed 0.42%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 4.75% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.419 at the close. Meanwhile, Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) added 3.63% or 0.017 points to end at 0.485 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 1.86% or 0.060 points to 3.290 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 3.49% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.526 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 2.42% or 0.030 points to end at 1.210 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) was down 2.37% or 0.040 points to 1.650.

The top performers on the ADX General were National Corp Tourism Hotels (AD:NCTH) which rose 15.00% to 4.60, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was up 6.86% to settle at 5.45 and Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which gained 5.77% to close at 0.550.

The worst performers were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.85% to 0.530 in late trade, Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which lost 1.61% to settle at 0.610 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 1.12% to 0.880 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 18 to 7 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 16 rose and 8 declined, while 2 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.15% or 0.07 to $49.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $52.91 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.97% or 11.10 to trade at $1155.40 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.75% to 4.1725.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 94.93.
