Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Fixed Line Telecommunications and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 2.08% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which rose 1.56% or 19.00 points to trade at 1233.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (LON:RBS) added 1.03% or 2.200 points to end at 216.100 and Inmarsat PLC (LON:ISA) was up 0.99% or 7.00 points to 710.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were G4S PLC (LON:GFS), which fell 5.02% or 9.40 points to trade at 178.00 at the close. Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:LLOY) declined 4.21% or 2.8200 points to end at 64.2300 and SKY PLC (LON:SKYB) was down 3.67% or 34.00 points to 891.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1871 to 314 and 368 ended unchanged.

Gold for August delivery was up 0.80% or 10.15 to $1286.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $48.84 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.46% or 0.23 to trade at $50.31 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.18% to 1.4230, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.7928.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 94.46.
