Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil Equipment Services & Distribution, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Aberdeen Asset Management PLC (L:ADN), which rose 2.93% or 10.30 points to trade at 361.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Tui AG (L:TUIT) added 1.66% or 20.00 points to end at 1228.00 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (L:ICAG) was up 1.59% or 9.50 points to 608.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anglo American PLC (L:AAL), which fell 3.12% or 19.00 points to trade at 590.90 at the close. Glencore PLC (L:GLEN) declined 2.69% or 3.2000 points to end at 115.9500 and WPP PLC (L:WPP) was down 2.16% or 32.00 points to 1448.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1231 to 934 and 414 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.32% or 3.70 to $1166.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.87% or 0.39 to hit $44.21 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.17 to trade at $47.81 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.39% to 1.5369, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.7198.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.37% at 96.82.
