Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Fixed Line Telecommunications and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which rose 3.30% or 33.00 points to trade at 1034.00 at the close. Meanwhile, InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (LON:IHG) added 2.49% or 79.00 points to end at 3250.00 and Micro Focus International (LON:MCRO) was up 2.38% or 48.00 points to 2063.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which fell 6.86% or 95.00 points to trade at 1289.00 at the close. Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR) declined 5.94% or 41.50 points to end at 657.50 and Randgold Resources Ltd (LON:RRS) was down 4.85% or 295.00 points to 5790.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1214 to 1056 and 427 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.77% or 9.40 to $1207.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.66% or 0.30 to hit $45.12 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.54% or 0.25 to trade at $46.24 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.72% to 1.2330, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8590.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 101.33.
