Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Software & Computer Services and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.41% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were ARM Holdings PLC (LON:ARM), which rose 40.88% or 486.00 points to trade at 1675.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Aberdeen Asset Management PLC (LON:ADN) added 3.71% or 11.40 points to end at 318.50 and Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (LON:RBS) was up 3.15% or 5.800 points to 189.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BHP Billiton PLC (LON:BLT), which fell 1.98% or 19.70 points to trade at 976.80 at the close. Tui AG (LON:TUIT) declined 1.98% or 19.00 points to end at 942.50 and BP PLC (LON:BP) was down 1.72% or 7.8500 points to 449.3000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1388 to 723 and 420 ended unchanged.

Gold for August delivery was down 0.00% or 0.05 to $1327.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.33% or 0.62 to hit $46.03 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.58 to trade at $47.03 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.77% to 1.3283, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8342.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 96.50.
